"The Wicked" pt 2

We continue with our overview of the "wicked" found in Proverbs.  These verses are from the last half of the book chapters 16-31.  These verses seem to be aimed more at the relationships of the wicked and the consequences of honouring the wicked and placing wicked people in power.  
Hebrews 4:13 "And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
  • Proverbs 16:4   The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
  • Proverbs 17:4   An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.
  • Proverbs 17:15   He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.
  • Proverbs 17:23  The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice.
  • Proverbs 18:5   It is not good to be partial to1 the wicked or to deprive the righteous of justice.
  • Proverbs 19:28   A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
  • Proverbs 20:26   A wise king winnows the wicked  and drives the wheel over them.
  • Proverbs 21:4  Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.
  • Proverbs 21:7  The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just.
  • Proverbs 21:10   The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.
  • Proverbs 21:12   The Righteous One observes the house of the wicked; he throws the wicked down to ruin.
  • Proverbs 21:18   The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, and the traitor for the upright.
  • Proverbs 21:27  The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination;  how much more when he brings it with evil intent.
  • Proverbs 21:29   A wicked man puts on a bold face,...
  • Proverbs 24:15  Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home;
  • Proverbs 24:16 ... the wicked stumble in times of calamity.
  • Proverbs 24:19   Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked,
  • Proverbs 24:20   for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
  • Proverbs 24:24  Whoever says to the wicked, “You are in the right,” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations,
  • Proverbs 24:25  but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.
  • Proverbs 25:5  take away the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness.
  • Proverbs 25:26  Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
  • Proverbs 28:1  The wicked flee when no one pursues,...
  • Proverbs 28:4  Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them.
  • Proverbs 28:12  ... when the wicked rise, people hide themselves.
  • Proverbs 28:15  Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
  • Proverbs 28:28  When the wicked rise, people hide themselves, but when they perish, the righteous increase.
  • Proverbs 29:2  ...when the wicked rule, the people groan.
  • Proverbs 29:7   A righteous man knows the rights of the poor; a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.
  • Proverbs 29:12  If a ruler listens to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.
  • Proverbs 29:16  When the wicked increase, transgression increases,...
  • Proverbs 29:27  ...one whose way is straight is an abomination to the wicked.  
All you need to do is read the Old Testament as well as your history books to see these principles played out all to often.  Wicked men in power corrupt and destroy  countries, people, churches and families.   
But we know the end of the story.  The wicked do not win.  One day Christ is going to come back and destroy the wicked once and for all.  He will establish His Kingdom in righteousness, and the Knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth.  That day is coming so do not lose heart.    The Righteous One is coming back.  Are you looking for the blessed hope and glorious appear of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ? Titus 2:11-15        
      
Proverbs 21:12   The Righteous One observes the house of the wicked; he throws the wicked down to ruin.
God is sovereign, Our God reigns now and forever more.   Is this God your God?
